Why Watching The Padmavati Trailer And Songs Gives Us A Sense Of Deja Vu
After two box-office duds, Saawariya and Guzaarish, Sanjay Leela Bhansali returned to what he does best. His most successful films – Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas – had a very traditional and almost a royal feel to them. Post the release of the Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai starrer, he struck gold with Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani. Now with Padmavati about to release, let’s find out why his last three films are same-same but different.
1. Same Lead Cast
This is the director’s third collaboration with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. He brings the best out of them as both the actors have won awards for their performances in Bajirao Mastani and Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela.
2. That One Song
Nagada Sang Dhol from Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, Deewani Mastani from Bajirao Mastani and Ghoomar from Padmavati have Deepika Padukone showcasing her exceptional dancing skills. These also feature that one guy who can’t keep his eyes off her while another character continues to look annoyed.
3. Grand Scale
SLB always pays attention to detail and spends lavishly on the costumes and sets. All the three movies look like they are made on an extravagant budget and have not been shot in real locations.
4. Action Sequences
While both Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani were love stories, they had a number of action scenes. Since Padmavati’s runtime is reportedly close to three and a half hours, you can expect it to have more than one war sequence.
