Check Out The Reviews Of ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ Before Heading To The Theatre

After Airlift and Rustom, Akshay Kumar has two repetitive movies that talk about health sanitation. Shedding light on the importance of “hygiene” and “sanitation” in rural areas, the story of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha revolves around Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Abhiyaan campaign.

If you remember, back in 2012, we heard Vidya Balan’s soothing voice in government ads on television, urging India to end open defecation. She urged Indians to build toilets in homes and told us stories of battles being fought across the country in the name of the loo.

The movie is based on the very same concept.

“Biwi paas chahiye toh ghar me sandaas chahiye.”

With this motto, Akshay Kumar sets out on a mission to hold a mirror to those who support open defecation in the name of age-old traditions and so called Indian culture. Bhumi Pednekar’s idealistic stand on marriage and overflowing love for her husband accompany Akshay Kumar while he takes on the system, society and his own father. (Source)

The movie has garnered mix reviews; few of them have loved the movie, while others feel, the execution of the topic could be better. Never the less, check out the reviews before heading out for the movie!
