Going By Early Reviews, Rajkummar Rao’s Next Film ‘Omerta’ Could Be His Best So Far

Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Omerta’ was the closing film at MAMI.

The brilliant duo Hansal Mehta and Rajkummar Rao have delivered yet another outstanding film ‘Omerta’.The film is based on Omar Saeed Sheikh, who was freed in the exchange for passengers of a hijacked Indian Airlines plane in 1999 and was later accused of killing journalist Daniel Pearl.

Interestingly, Mehta previously featured Omar in his 2013 ‘Shahid’. The character was present in a brief scene where he tries to recruit lawyer Shahid Azmi in his plan while in jail. Rajkummar played the role of Shahid in that film. The ones who saw it can’t stop raving about the film.

Till now, Omerta has only been screened at Film Festivals. The makers are yet to announce the official release date.
