7 Times Bollywood Hasn’t Been Truthful About College Life

Throughout our lives, we fall on Bollywood for inspiration when it comes to our lives. We get our fashion trends from the movies and sometimes they are inspirational as well. But Bollywood has also lied to us about college life and take it from someone who loves movies, here are seven times Bollywood has not been truthful about college.

#1. Pyaar dosti hain… not!

Probably they haven’t heard of friend zone. Once you become a dost, you stay a dost. No Rahul is coming to you 10 years later and falling in love with you.

#2. Your farewells are not concert performances

We remember that Rajput college freshers where Aamir Khan‘s character talks about his father’s aspirations. You will probably end up at a pub dancing the night away at your freshers. And the juniors are probably happy to see you leave.

#3. Your Dean will probably not even recognize you

The Dean of the college has tons of tasks and with thousands of students attending a single college, it is quite possible the Dean of the college won’t even know of your existence unless you get in trouble…a lot.

#4. There aren’t as many dance competitions

Although there are college festivals, they are rarely the way you see them in movies. You will just end being crushed in a crowd of students who are just there because some friend wanted to be there.

#5. You might not make friends on the first day

Yes, we make everlasting friendships in college. But it will take you a couple of weeks before you start talking to people.

#6. No professors will be seen in designer wear

The professors are used to seeing the students come and go. They will definitely not flaunt a silk saree like Sushmita Sen in Main Hoon Na.

#7. No heads are turning if you get a makeover

As mentioned earlier, there will be thousands of students and between assignments, practicals, and lectures no one really has the time to see who’s changed their clothing style and who hasn’t.

Bonus:
While the above will not be true, you just might end up going on Goa trip everyone is always talking about in the movies.
