Book of Life is a romance rather than an adventure like Coco, but it also prominently features the Day of the Dead. It also manages to respectfully show the famous Mexican tradition in a way all kids and adults will love.

If a cute version of the afterlife and ghosts are what you look forward to in Coco, you will love Spirited Away. With memorable characters, a young main character, and an adventure through a magical world, this might very well be the Japanese Coco.

#6. Nightmare Before Christmas

There’s no other famous animated skeleton in movies that can come close to Jack Skellington. If you loved the sneak peek of the trickster skeleton, Hector Rivera, this film is for you. While it doesn’t have Day of the Dead, it does have another famous holiday – Christmas.
